Responsible for managing specialist subcontractors, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring programme compliance, the role demands a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a sharp focus on safety, quality, and delivery. Our client is a rapidly growing and ambitious main contractor, known for delivering data centre projects across Europe. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager for a major new-build data centre project in Norway.
• Oversee the installation and delivery of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, CRAH/CRAC units, and process cooling
• Manage mechanical subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are executed in line with programme and specifications
• Lead design coordination and resolve technical challenges with design and BIM teams
• Ensure mechanical works are installed and commissioned to mission-critical standards
• Drive quality control, health & safety, and compliance across mechanical operations
• Manage risk, report progress, and contribute to project forecasting and cost control
• Work closely with the client, consultants, and commissioning teams to ensure performance requirements are met
• Proven experience managing mechanical delivery on large-scale data centres or similar mission-critical environments (e.g. pharma, semiconductor)
• Deep technical understanding of HVAC systems, cooling infrastructure, and mechanical plant in high-resilience environments
• Strong leadership and coordination skills, capable of managing multidisciplinary teams and fast-paced programmes
• Previous experience working with international teams and large-scale subcontractor packages
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and planning abilities
